Flow to Crow 60 mins

60 minute class
1 yoga brick needed

Eventually we all come back down to the ground, some as lightly as a feather and some with a thud, but once we return, we see that we can trust the tools that we have been given and experience the freedom that leads to flight.

Crow Pose known in Sanskrit as Bakasana is a well known arm-balance posture that requires the weight of the body to be supported by the hands. The knees rest on the arms and the feet lift toward the buttocks. Its a dinky little pose that requires a huge amount of focus and concentration.

What makes this pose so popular is the playfulness and lighthearted energy that comes with balancing on the hands. Playfulness in Sanskrit is know as 'Lila' which translates as 'Divine Play'.

Often the practices of yoga can be oh so serious, so working with crow pose allows for a little fun. There's nothing like the feeling of giving something new a go - at first we may fall down and look awkward and that's ok. Being able keep it light, have a giggle and not allow the challenge of it stand in our way of trying again, is all part of the practice.

I hope you enjoy this class and please do let me know if you kept your toes on the ground this time around or if they managed to lift off.

Much love,

C x
